The Filmfest Lounge is where industry audiences meet to network, celebrate, discuss films they’ve seen and plan new ones. Workshops, panel discussions, networking events and pitchings provide space for exchange and learning.
In the rooms reserved for the industry, you can relax with free coffee, work or meet interesting colleagues from all over the world.
Some of the events are open to the public to give a glimpse behind the scenes and learn more about the filmmakers and their work.
An industry accreditation allows access to the lounge and all events that are not explicitly on registration.
Filmmakers-Lunch und Jury Meet and Greet
Thursday, Friday, Saturday 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
While the NOON will be offering warm food and snacks throughout the day, Thursday through Saturday from 1:00pm – 2:00pm there will be a discounted lunch (vegetarian/vegan) at the “big table” to nutrition and network. Each day a jury from the competition will join you and answer your questions.
During this hour, our photo wall in the lounge will also be staffed by our awesome Filmfest photographer and you can take your professional instagrammable shots.

Niamh Sauter-Cooke (Author, Director), Lena Krause (DOP), Gisa Flake (Actress) and Eun-Zi Kim (Creative Producer, Film Executive).
The “male gaze” in film has been widely researched. But what about the “female gaze”? How does it differ? How do we find it, after decades of being shaped by the male gaze as female filmmakers as well? What has already changed in women’s storytelling in recent years, where do we want to go, and most importantly: how do we get there?

Workshop: Fight-choreography in film
11:00 am to 1:00 pm Ballettsaal (meeting point NOON)
With Lukas Benjamin Engel
In this 2-hour workshop actor and fight choreographer Lukas Benjamin Engel will give an introduction to the basics of fight choreographies. Differences between stage and film will be explained and small choreographies will be worked out, which will be tested for credibility by the participants on live film.
The ideal compensation for the cinema seat. Come by and beat each other up!
With experience in judo, ju-jutsu, capoeira, aikido, kung fu and tai chi, Lukas completed the Foundation Degree of Stage Combat at the East15 Acting School in London at the age of 17. He intensified his work during his acting studies at HMDK Stuttgart, assisted the renowned fight choreographer Klaus Figge and eventually choreographed fights, battles and stage falls himself.
Following his permanent engagement at the Staatstheater Wiesbaden, he works as a freelance actor, singer, author and fight choreographer in film, television and theater since 2016.

Caroline has been in front of the camera regularly since her childhood. Most recently, you could follow her as a chief inspector in SOKO Potsdam (ZDF). She is also passionate about improvisational theater and improvisation in film. Her self-produced, improvised feature film “Rest in Greece” premiered at the Munich Film Festival. As an improv coach, she shares her passion with filmmakers. In her workshop you will train the ability to let go, to follow your own impulses, to fail cheerfully and to let stories emerge.

The workshop will be in German, but there will be the possibility of English exercises for international guests.

Filmfest Bremen and Freie Agentur e.V., Association for Bremen Actors and Filmmakers invite you to breakfast and networking.
At “round tables” you will find filmmakers from Bremen on topics like “locations in Bremen”, “crew in Bremen”, “actors in Bremen”, “funding“, etc.
Also if you still have a hangover from last night, you can just come around for coffee…
Pitch and Pie
2:00 pm to 3:30 pm/Kleines Haus (public)
Eight selected filmmakers pitch their current projects in front of an industry jury and answer their questions.
The winner of the pitch award and the prize money of 500 € (donated by Filmbüro Bremen) will be announced by the jury afterwards. Following the Filmbüro Bremen invites you to an exchange of ideas over coffee and cake at the NOON.
The jury consists of: Nadine Niemann (Radio Bremen/Arte), Katrin Burchard (nordmedia), Christina Meyer (Kinescope Filmproduction), Anette Unger (Leitwolf Filmproduction) and Jule Körperich (freelance artist, filmmaker and winner of the Pitch and Pie 2022).
Pitches will be in German.
