The music label MPS (Music Production Black Forest) from Villingen is known worldwide among fans, musicians and lovers of jazz. Legends such as Oscar Peterson, Duke Ellington, Friedrich Gulda, Monthy Alexander, George Duke, Freddie Hubbard, Jean-Luc Ponty and the Singers Unlimited traveled to the small Black Forest town from the mid-sixties to be recorded by the entrepreneur’s son Hans Georg Brunner-Schwer. Brunner-Schwer captivated musicians with his enthusiasm for music and his pursuit of sonic perfection: until the surprising sale of his label in 1983, around 500 albums were released on MPS, many of them have become modern classics.

The documentary takes viewers on a fascinating journey into the 60s and 70s and tells one of the most incredible chapters in jazz history, which originated in southwest Germany.
