For the first time in the history of Filmfest Bremen we start the festival week with a competition entry as the official opening film. Great Britain is the only country represented with no less than two entries in the German Premieres category, so it is given the honor of opening this year’s festival. The short film “The Operator”, which portrays a young man in a space emergency call center, will kick off the festival. Afterwards, we present the European premiere of the feature film “Kindling” by Connor O’Hara, which is about terminally ill student Sid who spends the last months of his life with his friends and family. A heartwarming and happy film about saying goodbye, the director and the actors* will be present at the screening.
