Whether arthouse or mainstream – genre is every- where, especially horror. With ‘The Substance’, ‘Titane’, ‘Blink Twice’, ‘Nightbitch’ or ‘Love lies bleeding’, more and more women are finally staging (female) abysses, while ‘Nosferatu’ or ‘The Monkey’ recapitulate classic horror. But what are the differ- ences between female and male nightmares – and how can genre contribute to equality? Hosted by curator and film journalist Jenni Zylka.
