Provo
Liz is an ex-Mormon, a drug addict and living in Chicago when she learns that her father, who abused her and with whom she broke off contact, is now dying in Provo, Utah. Liz’s Mormon stepsister brings over a family heirloom left to her by her father: a framed portrait of Joseph Smith. When Liz’s devoted boyfriend, Geoffrey, sees the portrait, he convinces Liz to take a road trip to Utah to confront her traumatic childhood.
