Short Film Award: Green and white evening at the Theater am Goetheplatz – take part now!

The Werder Short Film Award for the 125th birthday at the Theater am Goetheplatz

The Theater am Goetheplatz will shine in green and white on April 13, 2024. To mark the 125th anniversary of SV WERDER BREMEN, a selection of short films dedicated to the club’s rich history in three minutes will be shown and awarded in cooperation with the 9th Bremen Film Festival.

Everyone is invited to take part. The films should tell very personal views of the club, its heroic stories or relegation ghosts, its players, memories of the wohninvest WESERSTADION or the “Platz 11” stadium. We are looking for the best Weder moments, the special atmosphere in certain parts of the city, archive material in basements and attics.

All of this can be a loud or quiet declaration of love, a comedy, a soccer thriller or a documentary. Taking part is everything – whether you’re a professional or a first-time filmmaker learning the ropes.

The big Werder Gala for the Short Film Award is the last event in a whole series of celebrations and is the grand finale to the club’s anniversary at the Theater am Goetheplatz. The gala will be accompanied by a festive supporting program. Music, comedy and talks with Werder legends are on the program. The evening will be hosted by Felix Krömer.

Tickets for the event will be available from 15 March 2024 at Theater Bremen – on site and online – for €12.50 / €10.00 reduced.

Anyone wishing to register for the competition can do so now at https://www.filmfestbremen.com/en/wonder-from-the-weser/

Films can still be submitted until March 9.

5,500 euros for the best short films

To mark the 125th anniversary of the club, Werder Bremen, in cooperation with Filmfest Bremen, is holding a Werder short film competition for the first time and awarding prize money totaling 5,500 euros: two jury prizes of 3,500 euros and 500 euros, as well as an audience prize of 1,500 euros. On the gala evening, the audience will vote on site for the audience award. The jury prize and the honorable mention will be decided by a panel of experts from the club and the world of film: actor Matthias Brandt, film producer Tom Spiess, actress Sara Fazilat, national spokesperson for the fan representatives Julia Düvelsdorf (Head of Fan Culture and Anti-Discrimination at SV Werder), stadium announcer and presenter Arnd Zeigler and Markus Biereichel (SV Werder Communications Department, WERDER.TV). All six are united by the green and white heart.

The competition winners will be published on the SV Werder Bremen website :
