Conditions of participation and submission

All Super 8 films that meet the following criteria are eligible:

– Production year: 2021/2022/2023
– max. 15 minutes

There will be both analogue and digital projection.

For film selection, we ask for digital screeners online or for download.

In addition to the film, please provide Filmfest Bremen with two high-resolution film stills and a short synopsis (in English and German), which may be used online and in print media for the programme announcement as well as for public relations in the context of the competition.

Submission period: June 1st to July 31st 2023.

Selection procedure

A selection committee selects the films submitted and compiles the programme. There are no legal claims to the selection of a film.

The visit of the filmmakers of the selected films to the festival is highly encouraged. Details will follow when selected.

Notification and projection copy

All entrants will be notified by e-mail of their acceptance or rejection by mid-August. Please refrain from telephone and written enquiries.

We will then ask those selected to send us an analogue (preferred) or digital screening copy. Details will follow in an e-mail.

The costs of sending the projection copy to Filmfest Bremen has to be covered by the sender. The costs for the return shipment will be covered by Filmfest Bremen.

Filmfest Bremen will not pay any film rental should the film be selected for the programme.
