MOVING HISTORY – WALFANG
It is 26 August 1872. The Hudson under commander J.H. Westermeyer from Lesumbrok returns to the Weser with only one whale. This marks the end of whaling under sail in Bremen, which lasted 200 years. There is the little boy who sees the whalers as heroes. There is the landlady who worries about the empty seats in her taproom.
